My dad is a fraternal twin. I heard twins are supposed to skip a generation? How true is this? Just wondering if it runs in any of your families?

I'm not sure, but it seems common. One of my school friends was a non-id twin, she had non-id twin brothers, then went on to have non-id twins herself. I'm not sure about the skipping generations thing but that would be a massive coincidence if it didn't run in families in some way!!! __________________________ Baby @12wks2d

Non-id/fraternal twins are, because it's the gene that makes mums release two eggs at once that's passed down

Identical twins are when the egg splits by a fluke of nature and non-identical twins stem from a heritary line as they are separate eggs being released and fertilised individually, thus coming down from the maternal side. I have them on my mothers side of the family. My great nan was one 16 children with 4 sets of twins.
