| I've just read about molar pregnancy and it's starting to worry me!! You don't know until your 12 week scan and you get all the symptoms of pregnancy! Has anyone looked into this? I want to know how common it is. I've read that is occurs when the egg isn't fully formed and becomes fertilised. I missed my pill for three weeks and fell pregnant so there must be a chance I could have this because the pill stops eggs from maturing! I'm worried!
It's characterised by severe sickness and unusually large abdominal swelling in the first trimester, none of which ive had, but I've had discharge and nausea and they are symptoms :( I don't know if I'm being ridiculous. Can somebody give me a slap?
Xx

| My cousin had a molar pregnancy and as far as I know they are extremely rare. She did know within a few weeks because she was very unwell and had bleeding. A scan then showed that the pregnancy was molar. Its so rare she had to go all the way to London for treatment as nowhere closer had specialists in this area. I have not heard of anyone else having had one, so please try not to worry __________________________ |

| "Molar pregnancies are rare. About one in every 1,000 pregnancies in the UK is a molar pregnancy. In Asian-origin women, molar pregnancies are twice as common (Cancer Research 2009c), though we don't know why" I looked it up for you just to put your mind at rest and this is what it said. Sickness & discharge are all very normal in pregnancy so try not to worry.
